QKS6 torque and temperature measurement flange
The QKS series combines torque and temperature measurement technology in a single rotor. The system has been specially developed for brake test benches and offers increased resistance to lateral forces. This means that the lateral forces generated during braking have only a minimal effect on the torque signal. In addition to the tried-and-tested torque measurement technology, the rotor incorporates temperature measurement technology for connecting up to 16 Type K thermocouples. This enables contactless temperature measurement on rotating parts. The thermocouples are installed by the customer and connected to the QKS6 rotor using standard thermocouple connectors. The temperature measurement points are cold-junction compensated. A cable break detection function is included.

Optionally, the system can be configured as a dual-range measuring flange (torque) for measuring residual grinding torques. The ratio between the large and small torque measurement channels is 1:5 (standard) or, optionally, 1:10. A central cable is required to connect the stator to the evaluation unit (TCU5-IRTS). Thanks to digital signal transmission (similar to the DF series), the cable length can be selected to be sufficiently long.
The system is configured via the intuitive, integrated web interface. Test signals for the measured variables ‘torque’ and ‘temperature’ can be generated in the rotor to check the measurement chain. The CAN configuration can be customised on the web interface, and a DBC file can be generated.
The temperature channels are adjusted in our in-house calibration laboratory.
